How to Quit Runescape Permanently:

1) Change your Recovery Questions to random numbers and or letters that you will not remember later.

2) Wait for your questions to be set. This will ensure that you really DO want to quit and are not just mad temporarily because it takes some time.

3) Cancel your Membership

4) Write a long number on a piece of paper. Change your pass. to this number and then dispose of the paper in any way you see fit.

Why am I posting this? I believe in helping people. I believe that many people still play this game despite not really enjoying it because they are addicted to it. This provided a method to break this addiction. It has worked for me. How so? I will probably be banned for telling you this. Just like the smoking companies hated the fact that they had to put on warning labels. Thanks. :)

lol, jagex doesn't ban for that, they just hate you in particular. you've had, what, 3 accounts banned for rwit that you didn't do? lol.

today my friend randomly asked a quitting guy for his worn/inventory. he got a dark bow and ranger set, an just over 1k yew longs and runes for alching. ftw. i'll let you know if he winds up banned.

oh, and if i had chosen to play rs instead of browse these forums, i'd be 500m richer right now. party hat, 213m cash, 3 santas, and bgs >.> quitting pker friend. i logged on to learn he had just given his hat to a level 3, and put the rest in the party room >.<

Ya, ask Hummerwar...about that...they do ban for that.

i know hummer's story. he was talking with his sister irl. no dialog, thus it appeared to be a drop off from a gold farmer. the key is conversation discussing the circumstances of the trade.

if you say "here's your order!" "thanks, thats a hard earned 20$ for that 4m" "well, enjoy, i've got more deliveries"

you're as good as banned for sure.

however, in the past few days i've made several multi million gold unbalanced trades between friends, and thusfar, i'm ok. i'll let you know how that gets on.

imho, it is all luck. whether the eye of jagex happens to glance over you or not.

I would just cancel membership, change my password and write it down, in case for some reason I'd want it back.

Dear Cooper,

I'm inclined to believe you because Jagex probably has an algorithm that picks up trades made in what might seem to be suspicious behaviour. Unfortunately, Jagex do not review permanent bans made by their automated banning system (aka chimps locked in a computer room).

Here's a way to quit RS permanently: find something else to do. The addiction will wear off. If not, consult a physician.

Love,
MQ
