Guessed there'd be a summoning thread sooner or later so I made one.

Post every tip, training strategy, summoning item that you've come across so far.

I've realised that raw chickens make chickens and that wolf bones make spirit wolves..
Could anyone add what items add to your summoning defence bonus aswell?

Well... To get to 99 summoning, it turns out the cost will be approximately 650mil +...

Minimum.

I hate how the focus of summoning is not using the summons, but making stupid pouches...

Jagex once again promised a great skill and came out dry (maybe I'm only saying this cause I'm level 11)

If anyone needs raw chicken, beef or rat meat. You can buy this in the shop next to the bank in Canafis. Unlimited stock.

yeah honestly now this is a horrible money sink and the grind to get the charms is just not worth the rewards.

The way to get spider carcasses:

  1. Get about 10 noted gems (opal, Jade and Topaz)
  2. Sell them to the guy in Tai Bwo Village to get some starting trading sticks. It works best if you have above 80% favour.
  3. Go west of the special tree grounds to get near a pile of 10+ jungle spiders.
  4. Kill all the ones you need.
  5. Go back to the village collect some more trading sticks for all the favour you've done
  6. Use the trading sticks to use Rionastas parcel-service to send the spider carcasses to your bank.
  7. Repeat step 3-6 as many times as you wish.

I spent a couple of hours at ice giants and got a total of 80 gold charms.

That's A COUPLE OF HOURS and i went from 17-19 summoning. Now if it's taking a couple of hours to make such a tiny leap, i would DREAD to think what it's going to be like at level 50+ and 90+ would be a joke.

I rather like the skill, i like just how tough it is..but i think they may, perhaps have gone over kill on the difficulty.

It needs to be a random number of charms, from 1-10 per drop. Not 1 a drop.

It's just too slow :\

200GP Max.

Yeah, scrolls don't sel at all for me. Have 2.1K Dreadfowl scrolls in the GE, nobody's buying them.

But personally I hate Sommoning. It's a waste of time.

I just used the Shilo Village fairy ring and killed the 4 spiders that patrol the wall. Its a quick run from there to the Zanaris bank.
