Mod Gerhard Question Thread RS Forums

What question did you ask him? I got first post page 536 lol.

Spoiler for My Question:

Quote:
Hello and thank you for the chance to ask a question.
I have been playing for quite a while. I had been playing and quit, for personal reasons. When I came back, most, or all of the updates that I wanted, and many other high level players wanted, were out. We had been asking for these updates a few years previous. Will you work on listening to what a majority want, and get updates out quicker, not a few years later? I understand that it takes a long time to code and test updates. But at least give us a reasonable time line.

Also a suggestion-
A section of the website (under community) that has a list of updates coming out within the month, and the next month. Give a little description, (or the news story) of the update. Have a little bar and % of how much of the update is done. This would make a large amount of people happy.

Thank You.

Nice question although do you think they are actually going to read all like 700 pages? I hope they do to get a sense of what our population wants :D

Wow, I actually wasted enough time to write a 1,000 word post to Jagex...I must be sick.

Spoiler for Was it worth 15 minutes of my life:

Hello,

I'm very happy that you're taking the time to listen to the players. I hope you listen to both the majority and the minority, as it seems some of the recent updates have been based upon the majority where as Jagex as ignored the minority. I can understand wanting to please the majority first but it seems like the minority has been left 'out in the cold'.

My question is referring to how the Defense skill works.

I am what players usually call a 'def nub', meaning I have a very high Defense level and lower attack and strength. This is because I like staying alive for long periods of times and like to class myself as a 'tank' in mini-games. Now I work great as a 'tank' up to a certain point. This is understandable, as no one is invincible. However I find that I most often get defeated by lower level players with lower attack than my defense.

How can this be? My defense level is currently 95. People with level 70 Attack, 90 Strength, and 60 or lower defense can easily hit over 25 on me often. I can rarely hit them at all - and my attack level is 90. For some reason it seems that high strength allows players to hit more accurately and harder. Shouldn't strength only affect how much you can hit? Not how often you hit? Either strength increases accuracy or higher defense makes you get hit more often.

I see this as a bug. It has been like this for years so it must not be, but I think that there is a problem here.

Please look into this and find out why higher strength allows players to hit more often against players with high defense.

Thank you for taking the time to listen to us.

Let's hope they listen.

I'm not going to send one in; doubt they'll get to see all messages anyways. But wow 636 pages, who's going to read all that? Its hard enough to go in a certain page. Anyways, its good for the new CEO to answer a few questions though for people who doesn't understand the game quite well.

It's about time that Jagex is under new management. New management that will benefit the players. This new CEO seems like a reasonable guy and if all the things that he says are true, RuneScape will be around for a very long time. I just hope he doesn't go back on his word.

I'm not gonna ask him a question. I haven't been playing for a long time, so I need to get back into the feel of things first before I suggest something.
