Post subject:  Frank Sinatra [and jazz in general]
Jazz has taken my life over lately, and I've been all for it. Sinatra especially, anyone have favorite charts by him? Any other favorite jazz charts you like?

Always have liked franks work from new York new York to fly me to the moon, him and dean Martin are my favorite jazz artist.

I took jazz history class this term in college and believe me, Sinatra is barely skimming the surface of the depth of jazz. Take a look at some of the older musicians like Charlie Parker, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, etc. The list goes on and on of notable jazz musicians. There are not a whole lot of singers in jazz since most jazz is hard to put words to. Look more for the music type of jazz and not so much the singing side of jazz. Sinatra is great, but there is a whole lot more to jazz then just him for sure, especially in the music part of jazz. :D

-Blue Bossa
-It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing

As for jazz artists, I really enjoy Herbie Hancock, Duke Ellington, and Charles Mingus.

Trust my I listen to the lot of them, although I am more of the Dizzy G fan.

Dizzy can be really fun. We just touched a little on Herbie Hancock as well. All those guys are great. For the most part. Some of the bebop guys are pretty hard to understand. :?
