Wouldn't that just encourage spamming? We already have the metal ranks(Bronze, iron, steel ect) for that.

-Each additional year someone is a member of the same staff group (like being EC for two years straight) 'x2', 'x3', etc would show up by the medal to indicate they've been there for two years, etc. Having a staff position, then retiring, then returning could also count if they had worked enough time to get the medal before retiring and then worked enough after so that they had two years worked still.
Current staff positions (GMs, CMs, CC, EC, and NS) would be prefixed with 'Rookie' initially when they recieve the medal for 1 year and then 'Veteran' for three years. Five years or more would receive 'Everlasting' as a prefix.
If a retired position member has proof of being in a retired staff group for 3 years they would receive the Veteran prefix infront of their title.(I.E. a long time judge was judge for 3 years and a few members remember that so that member would get the Veteran Graphics Evaluator medal)

Impressive compilation.

Have we discussed how medals will actually be given out? *too lazy to search topic*
Some medals will be able to be automatically awarded, but most will need to be manually presented. I think a good idea would be to list the medals somewhere and grant the ability for users to apply for a particular medal, citing proof that the medal is deserved, if necessary. Medal applications would then be approved by mods, a bit like (for those of you who are familiar with phpBB) approving posts and clearing reports. The downside I see to this is that there's less excitement as you know that you're getting what you're applying for, but I can't think of a way around it. How are they awarded on other forums?
