I have been using ImageShack Quickshot to take screenshots for the past few months, but I don't like it any more. Every time I try to take a screenshot, it lags for 3 seconds, and lately it's been coming up with messages like "There is not enough space to complete this action."

I want a free screenshot taker that can automatically take a screenshot of the entire screen, an active window, or a preset area, and then save it automatically into a folder as a preset file type. It needs to have customizable hotkeys, and needs to be able to run from the system tray. I would appreciate it if someone would recommend one to me. I won't use SwiftSwitch. Thanks.

Try Screenprint32.

Google it as the company that made it doesn't exist anymore.

I use it and it's really good.

Is there a way to configure Autosave?

SP32 doesn't have AutoSave.

Choose a directory in the "save options" tab and uncheck "On the fly" in the "General" tab.
