Well, I videotaped a school project. The file that was there when I went to put it on the computer were .CPI, so I changed them to .camrec for my Camtasia Studios editing. The won't go into Camtasia Studios, or play in Windows Movie Player. How do I get this is an extention I can work with? Can I run it through a DVD Decoder or Video Converter?
HELP!
I Will give as much infomation as I can. MSN me- okerrigan@hotmail.com" target="_blank

Changing a file extension doesn't change the file type. Change them back to .cpi, and try to find a program that will open / edit / convert it to something more common. From what I've been reading, one of the few programs I've seen through research has been Pinnacle Studio. Pretty sure you have to pay for that though, one of the problems of using a propitiatory format.

A Kid asked Jesus, "How much do you love me?" and Jesus said. "This much."
And spread his arms out on the cross and died.
If you believe that he did this for you put this in your signature.

Just open the .camrec in camtasia and render it (in camtasia I think it's called export movie).

Simply choose your render settings and its done. May take a few minutes. You can choose .wmv and a few other common formats.

file > export movie as

Was checking a Free Giveaway of the Day site, and they're offering something that'll convert AVCHD and others. 15 hours left to get this at the time of this post :S
