Witch’s House
Background: A little boy is crying outside the fence of a house in Taverley. It seems he has kicked his ball over the fence and can’t get it back. Can you be the boys saviour and retrieve it for him?
Required Skills: Ability to defeat and Level 53 enemy.
Required Items: Cheese (this can be obtained from the witches’ house in Draynor), Leather Gloves (these can be obtained for 6gp at the clothing shop in Varrock).
Quest Difficulty: Medium
Start Point: Just north-west of the gates into Taverley. Speak to the little boy by the fence of the house there.
Reward: 4 Quest Points, 6326 Hitpoints Experience.
1. Speak to the little boy sobbing by the fence of the house. He will tell you of his ordeal.
2. Walk to the main entrance of the house. To the left of the door there will be a pot-plant you have the option to “look under”. Look under this pot and you will find a key, use this key on the front door to get inside.
3. As you walk inside the house there is a flight of stairs on the right hand side of the house, go upstairs.
4. In the witch’s bedroom, the room with the pink bed, there is a pink diary on one o the drawers. Take it. Read it now.
5. Once you’ve read the diary, head back down the stairs you came up and go back down to the main floor.
6. There is a ladder located in a small corridor in the north of the main floor, go down this ladder to the basement.
7. Once you’re in the basement walk over to the large gate in the south of the room. Make sure you have your gloves on before you open the gate and walk through or you will get an electric shock!
8. Open and search the small cupboard on the wall on the other side of the gates. You will find a small red magnet.
9. Go back through the gates again (wearing your gloves!) and back up the ladder to the main floor.
10. Walk into the little room with 2 doors that separates the garden from the house now.
11. Use the cheese you got with the small mouse hole on the east wall of the room. Be careful not to eat the cheese as you do this. A mouse will then run out of the hole. Quickly use the magnet you got from downstairs on the mouse and something strange will happen.
You may want to take more than one cheese with you when you do this part. If you miss click the cheese and eat it you will need another one. Also, if you get teleported outside when you are doing the next step you will need another cheese and magnet from downstairs to use on the mouse before the door to the garden will open again.
12. Now go out into the yard through the next door in the little mouse room. This is the difficult part of the quest. You have to stay behind the hedges as you now have to walk to the shed at the end of the garden. If the witch sees you she will cry out “Thief!” and use a spell to teleport you back to the start point with the little boy and you will have to walk inside again. Try and stay in the middle of the hedges as you pass between the gaps to the end. Make sure you are always watching where the witch is on the mini-map as this will help you here. It’s a good idea to have run on for this part. Also, if you get teleported outside, you will have to feed the mouse cheese again to get back outside into the garden.
13. You will arrive at the shed. Try and open the door and it will say it is locked.
14. Continue around the other side of the hedges to the fountain on the other side of the garden. Remember to stay hidden when the witch is walking past.
15. When you arrive at the fountain, “check” it. If you have read the pink diary you got from the bedroom you should find a silver key. This key will open the shed.
16. Walk back to the shed, hiding behind the hedges again. Use the silver key on the shed door.
17. Once inside the shed the Witches Experiment will appear.
18. The experiment has 4 forms. The first form is a Level 19 experiment. The second form is a Level 30 spider, the third a Level 42 bear, and the fourth and final form is a wolf which is Level 53. Kill all the forms and the monster will die.
19. On a box on the south of the shed there is a colourful ball, take it.
20. Return to the boy now with the ball; be careful not to get caught by the witch again.
21. Talk to the boy and you will give the ball back and receive your reward.
22. QUEST COMPLETE!
