Post subject:  RSBANDBInformer! Applications - Extended to March 23!

Applications are once again open for RSBANDBInformer! This time we are looking for 2-3 P2P writers who can write about the monthly updates and we are also looking for someone who can file a monthly economic report.

The P2P writers will be assigned specifically to updates unless someone else in the crew feels they want to write about an update for a certain month.

The person who is hired for the economic position will be expected to maintain a list of prices for common items monthly.* They should also be proficient in Microsoft Excel in order to create graphs and charts of economic activity. Merchanting experience is not required but would be nice.

Application details:

Please be sure to include the following if you are applying for either the P2P writer position OR the econ position:

RSBANDB Forum Name:
Runescape Name:
Runescape Status: (F2P/P2P)

Past Writing Experience:

Please write at least 100 words (no more than 500) on one of the following topic:

Explain your favourite Runescape skill to someone who has never played Runescape before. Be sure to include why it's your favourite skill and how it works.

If you are applying for the P2P writer position please complete the following:

Please write at least 300 words (no more than 1500) on the following Runescape Update: The Great Brain Robbery.

If you are applying for the economist position please complete the following:

- Track prices for a week (7 days, daily) and plot this information in a tabular form for the following market basket:
-- Prayer potions (3 dose and 4 dose)
-- Dragon Chain
-- Pick two barrows sets and track the complete set price along with the prices for each item.
-- Robin Hood hat
-- Santa Hat
-- white Party Hat
- Include the suggested selling price and suggested buying price.
- Create a Microsoft Excel line graph showing price fluctuations in the selling price.
- After your chart has been made write up a report describing these changes and hypothesize as to what may have caused them.

*The economics of Runescape change very quickly. If you get hired we'd be interested to hear your feelings if you could compile weekly reports.

Please email all applications to rsbandbinformer@gmail.com with the subject line "RSBANDBInformer! Application" if your subject line is not that your application may be missed!

The application process will be the same as our last round. We will pick finalists from the recieved text applications and then call them in for an interview on MSN.

If you have sent in a previous application after applications were closed please re-send as the format has changed.
Applications will close on March 23rd.

If we have sent in applications in the past, we can edit the writing part, correct?

Wow that economics position looks like a lot of work...although...you'd probably just have to stop world two a couple times a day and check the forums fairly often (4-5 times a day). Still keeping track of inflation and such...wow...good luck to whom ever gets that.

I have thoughts of applying for economist, but do I have a due date for the week's price changes?

And I don't have Excel, can I make the line graph via Paint?

I would doubt it since it would be inaccurate and not as sightly.

Although I probably wouldn't check the week's prices that often I must admit I think it would be nice to look at the real thing. When your in economics you want accuracy of data and such. It would be interesting to see the prices change in accordance to updates though.

I dont think you have to use Excel, but you'd have to use something equivalent. If you dont have Excel, just go and download OpenOffice or something.

http://download.openoffice.org/2.1.0/in ... s=download - select to download the Windows version. The OOo equivalent of Excel is Calc.

Frickit, we need more applications. As long as you can type a legible sentence, SEND IN A FREAKING APPLICATION.

Or I'll, I dunno, stab you with a pencil or something.

Meh, I'll apply for economist.
1. I'll only have a 6 day graph
2. Barrows for the last 5 days only.
3. If they are filled, TELL ME SO I CAN STOP.

This was a last minute thing because
1. I've been declined 2 times
2. Game Freak's post

Applications are still open until the 23rd. The only reason people shouldn't apply if they've been declined is because they're banned.
