The new edition of Informer is up. This is the last monthly version, read more on the website: http://informer.rsbandb.com We're still looking for tech writers. Here is what being a tech writer would involve: One who is applying for the tech writer position must have an interest and passion in technology. They must be willing to dabble in new software experiences and give reviews on these new pieces of software. They must also be able to report breaking tech stories if they ever should happen. A tech writer must also be familiar with Windows. Experience with Linux or Mac OS is also preferred but not required. You would be writing at least one, maybe two (depending on how many people get hired) articles per month. So a strong love of technology would be to the benefit of the position. Application Format: Code: RSBANDB Forum Name: Runescape Name: Runescape Status: (F2P/P2P) Real Life Name: Age: Location/Timezone: Past Writing Experience: Please write a 500 word article (no more than 1500 words) on a recent tech story that suits your area of interest (note when we say tech, it can be anything, ranging from software, news, life tech, to AI programming). Also with your essay please include your current operating system and if you have used or use any variants of Linux or Mac OS Please email applications to shane[at]rsbandb[dot]com with the subject line: "May 2008 Tech Writer Application" (excl. quotes). If you applied during the last round of applications but were turned down, you are not able to apply again. The reason for not being able to apply again is that the last application process was just closed recently, so a change in your writing style is likely to not have happened. Applications close May 22nd. |

I really like the new design with the excerpts of each article. I really had a fun time reading these. My favourite, I'd say, was Halo 3 for Dummies. It's nice to get a breakdown of the weapons and when/how to use them. Being Cool in F2P was also good, but I sort of felt like it doted on the thing that everyone complains about in F2P: begging and lack of competence in the English language. It'd have been nice to see something that picked up on the more subtle things about how to be cool in F2P (because from levels 1-20, it was THE coolest thing to rock my chef's hat in Lumby). |

Great design and articles. Why is there MOTV's post from a couple of months ago on this month? |

Because it's the third most recent Tech/Gaming article. The page shows the two latest articles on the top right and top left, the most recent Runescape articles in the left-hand column, and the most recent Tech/Gaming articles in the right-hand column. |
