Well, rules are pretty general...
With permission from the 'great & legendary' Karl, I am copying and pasting rules from the new RR with, some exceptions.
1: No killing off other peoples characters.
No one is allowed to permanently effect another person's character unless the character doesn't have a really important role, is an enemy that there are multiples of, or the creator of the character gives permission. This includes killing, crippling, converting, and giving new titles.
2: No serts.
"Serts" are basically over-powered guys that can handle any conflict without getting more then a scratch. For example, if I gave someone the ability of infinite bullets, then the battlefield is going to get pretty empty pretty quickly and effortlessly. A story is boring without conflict, so instead I have it that this someone can have a normal full clip, and as a result he needs reload. That sort of attack is OK. Whereas, if he has time to reload, then there are times he is vulnerable and must actually engage in some difficult combat. No immortalities either.
3: No leading off other players characters against their intentional objective.
You are allowed to have other player's characters talk to yours, travel with them, and attack with them. However, you're not allowed to actually lead another person's character so much that he would completely strive from his intentional objective, so that creator would get lost. I mean, you have your character, so you should build IT up more instead of everyone elses'. It's like player-owned houses - you're not able to tell another player what his house should be like (only give advice), but instead you should build your OWN house to whatever you want.
4: Keep to the plot. KEEP TO THE PLOT! KEEEEEP TO THE PLOT!!!
Someone makes a plot, you keep to it. Let's try to make this into something memorable and PREFERABLY understandable.
We are warned that we only have one shot in making this a successful (and quite possibly endless) story in the Literature section rather then the sandbox. Thereby, a few extra rules have to be known (Typed by Creepypirate) (but copied and pasted by me).
-No double posting
-No comments on other peoples stories (you write your own part and that is all, no comments are needed. You wanna comment, PM them.)
-No less than 20 words per post
-No sexual, bad language or adult posts (You'd be surprised.)
Any questions/comments/complaints on someone else's work?
You PM them to me or Karl 67 ... or the person whose work you're referring to..
Got a question about how this works?
PM, k?
Let's see, since I have first colour dibs, I'll go with...
my usual.
Vincent's Profile
___________________________________________________________
Vincent woke up from his rest. He woke up on a dusty grey blanket. The itchy kind.
Under that, grey concrete. It felt hard, cold, and well, hard to sleep on. He was surprised he found any rest at all.
He stumbled up to see the rest of the survivors in the room. They were sound asleep, with the exception of those who were still trying to process of what happened topside.
FLASHBACK
_____________________________________________________________
"Roger Delta, we have confirmation."
"Who's that on the radio Logan?"
Vincent sat down and starting unequipping his CTU armor and weapons. After his team had failed to save the hostages trapped inside an apartment suite, they were quite shocked. They had been on a roll. They were still taking the shock to heart, as it was pretty hard on them. They felt lowly after what happened in there.
He entered the briefing room of the Police Department. Where they would usually get their briefing info was under construction, so they were stuck in the police department.
"Ah, just some wacko military nutjobs. I've been listening in on them since we got back. Apparently, they're test launching some kind of new missile." Logan had explained all of this in a curious tone.
"Alright Alpha, you'll have to launch that thing to the exact nanosecond. Respond with readiness levels."
"Critical. Launching in 3...2...OH GOD...IT'S ANOTHER MISSILE! WE'RE GOING DOWN! I REPEAT, WE'RE GOING -----"
There was an explosion heard. This didn't sound like any normal explosion though.
Vincent had flagged it in his mind as not very far away. Knowing this was military from their squad names, he knew this wasn't right from the beginning.
For some reason, he knew there was a nuclear fallout bunker a few streets down from the PD. Maybe it was fate, maybe it was luck. He didn't know.
Looking outside, his eyesight reached out only to see a mushroom cloud.
And everyone knew what those meant.
******* Logan, we're gonna need to get out of here. Now."
