Ahhhh, such good times. If only Half-Life had a reliable, official Theater mode.

Yea, I think you can record a demo file while playing, though this wouldn't be as integrated as something from Halo 3 or similar full featured theater modes.

For more information, check Valve's wiki page regarding demo files. I've recorded a few in my times, but I don't think I've ever done it in HL2:DM.

I might actually get CSS to come to the event. Is there a difference between the GunGame thing and the normal game?

GunGame is a mod that runs on the server so the gameplay is a bit different than normal. You're on one of the two teams (terrorists/counter terrorists) and you start out with whatever the MG is. You then work your way through all of the guns till finally you get to the knife. At that point, just knife someone to kill them, and you've won the GunGame

And yes, it should give you the SDK required for GoldenEye too

Sorry I wasn't at the last event, skiing on a slushy Whistler. :/ Might also not be at the next event because I might be driving home then, or have just gotten home. If the vote is close by the time I leave I'll vote for something.

I finally decided to take interest in this event so I started downloading some of the programs/games. I already have steam and hl2:tdm, but i am confused on how to the the other 2 games: GunGame and GoldenEye. More help on getting those would be wonderful, and also just to make sure, are those 2 both, cause if not then let me know and don't bother helping me get them.

Well, if you got the free version of HL2, then Goldeneye won't be free for you. And the GunGame you have to purchase.

Well I downloaded Goldeneye free fine, but it isn't recognized by steam and when I open the game from the start menu it just opens steam back up.

GunGame is a mod that runs on the server that you're playing on. You need Counter-Strike: Source in order to play the mod.

For GoldenEye, read my instructions in the first post. You do need to have paid for a source based game (TF2, DoD:S, CS:S, HL2, HL2E1/E2, L4D, etc) in order to use the SDK required to let GoldenEye work. If you used the promo deal through ATI or Nvidia, you won't be able to use HL2:DM as that game with the SDK. It must be a game you paid for. HL2:DM will work fine, but you don't get the SDK through the offer.

Too much HL2...zzzZzzz. I looked back and we have done a pattern of HL2 twice, CSS once, etc. I'd so much prefer CSS, but that's just because I play it way more. And I think it's more fun, too.

Count me out for this week.
