i think that may be to true about the locking thing. but then again i don't know what may happen. i'll be getting it for sure. i just canceld the preorder from amazon so that i can just pick it up at best buy later (or maybe target cuz i hate best buy and their over priced junk)

one of the craziest sc2 replay was against 2 pros who were fighting all the way until almost every single resource was taken and it was down to only 300 minerals left anywhere

Won't be getting the game as I have a rule of thumb not to spend over $30 for a game, especially on initial release. But, I'd suggest it to anyone to get. Blizzard had this game a long time coming, and because they didn't rush it and took their time, it will pay off big. This game looks awesome from everything I know and will be amazing to play for years to come...unless, of course, there are expansions in the works or even a possible Starcraft 3.

Edit: This is the closest thing I could find on the lock. URL says it all.

http://apcmag.com/starcraft-ii-region-lock-angers-australian-gamers.htm

I think it's just the Aussie's who will be locked from playing with the U.S. and Europe. Everyone else will be able to play everyone else otherwise. The supposed issue is connectivity and ping. Yes, Australia is pretty much in the middle of no where, but if you look at an internet map, the number of cables to the US and Asia are the same. I've never had too many problems with Aussies when I play with them. So I say, "LET 'EM PLAY!"

I'm sure that it'll be an absolutely fantastic game, and because of that I might even pick it up. The problem is that I've never really liked RTS games that much (LOTR:BFME2 was decent, but I was awful at it), mostly because, well, as the parentheses said, I'm awful at them. I also don't like to be trapped in games for hours on end when I boot them up and I prefer TF2 style quick in-and-out (no, that's not what she said) gameplay.

well actually what kept starcraft and wc3 alive was also the user map settings (UMS) maps

these were custom made map where you could basically do a lotta different games. look at dota for wc3.

and also for both helms deep maps were insane.

No Starcraft 2 Map editor is not even similar to War3 Editor. The SC2 editor blows anything else out of the water.

Wow, I didn't realize the scope of the game with all the mods and stuff. Looks like something I'll definitely be giving a try now.

What about a Halo movie first? I wish they made more movies about games than they do...and actually make them well like Blizzard has done with SC2. 8)

The thing with the Halo movie is no writer wants to write it. If they get one thing wrong Halo fans will go nuts and lynch him.

Although Gears of War has a movie planned. As does WoW.

Ahaha. Nice. Anyways, the other thing I was always confused on was why Kerrigan didn't just cloak and run away. I mean, if anyone can survive by themselves, a ghost obviously could. The storyline for the game looks like it's going to be pretty bad a**. And Blizzard always does an awesome job with gaming cinematography.

Edit: Post #1234! xD

i can answer that in 1 word
overlord

overlords in the game served as detectors so they could detect cloaked units. so even if she did cloak to try and get away, she would still be caught, and even so the cloak would run out of energy sooner or later
