___________________________

Start off the quest by talking to Veliaf in the Myreque hideout.

Image

He will give you the job of finding a new hideout for the Myreque. The suggested place is a town just south of Mort'ton, home of the barrows. Proceed south, board the swamp boaty, and head in a southwest direction from there, following the path until you get to a town.

Image

Now, they'll throw stuff at you thinking you're evil, so put some food, doesn't matter what, into the nearby chest. They'll consider you good and let you in. Talk to anyone there and inquire about a new hideout for the myreque. They'll suggest the inn, which has collapsed. Get your pickaxe, pot, and bucket ready for a job, and keep some inventory slots open, because you'll find additional supplies down there.

Image

You mine the rubble until it's in pieces, then use the pot on it. Each pile of rubble will fill your bucket 1/3 full. When your bucket it full, you can dump it on a rubble pile upstairs or you can leave Burgh de Rott, walk up to the bridge that leads to Mort'ton, and empty them there. Once you get the place cleaned up, you'll begin to find a few things. A letter, a slab, and a written-on stone on the wall. Keep these things in mind.

Image

Anyways, when you're done that, leave then inn and talk to a vilager. It's time to begin your work around town. If you need planks and supplies, the store in Mort'ton has tonnes. There are 3 tasks you can do to fix up the town, which the villagers can tell you what to do next if you talk to them:

1: Fix the general store. It's just east of the inn. You'll need 6 planks and 12 nails.

Image

2: Fix the bank, south of the general store. You need 5 planks, more nails, and 1 swamp paste. Also, you'll need to talk to Cornelious whose inside for a banker.

Image

Image

3: Fix the furnace. It'll take 2 steel bars, 1 coal, and a tinderbox.

Image

Image

However, when this is done, Vanstrom will notice it and your little town will no longer be secret to them. If you're going to get those villagers to stop yelling at you, you're going to have to beat the tar out of the vampires, who set up at the general store. to kill the vampires, you'll need something silver, so bring your blessed sickle if you want to do some damage. I'm not sure if Silverlight will work, but you can try.

Image

Anyways, don't worry too much. Veliaf will apear after you kill Gadder. He'll tell you a bit about the vampires weaknesses, and die. Veliaf will give you his hammer (W00t!) and tell you to meet back at the old Myreque base.

Go there. The plan is this: Veliaf will take the other 2 guys to the new hideout while you take Ivan Strom to the Saradomin temple.

This is where that mini-game comes into play. You choose 2 paths:

Image

Each path has 'potential' of an attack, like playing a game of Pokemon and walking through a grassy field. When you get attacked, it's by vampires, and you'll need your silver sickle to fend them off.

Now, your partner can heal himself with food, but you'll need to give him some beforehand. I used stew, as it's easy enough to get by the Seers Village bar. He can carry 15 food bits in total and will automatically heal and give you inventory note. Mind you, he has some favourites, like trout, cooked snail, and stew, and will only accept those.

When you're ready, go for it!

I suggest the shorter path. There are only 2 enemies, but they are tougher, so use prayer to draw their attention away from Ivan.

When they're dead, continue on and you'll get to the temple. Ivan will leave you, so go in and talk to Drezel.

Image

You want to convince him a lot until he finally will give you a library key. Say that Veliaf mentioned someone, then ask if there's anything else he can do to help. Then finally says that many people are dying, and he'll give in. Near him is a wall you use it on. A trapdoor will open.

Image

Jump inside and find 2 searchable bookcases around here.

Image

You'll find some interesting books. Take the time to read them, because they're interesting.

Anyways, summarizing it up, a special kind of staff was used to destroy vampyres as well as restoration potion, garlic, and silver.

Let's look for this staff first. Sealed up by planks and in a room with others ... now that you think about it, doesn't it sound like that the cave and those smaller caverns in the basement of the Canifis inn?

Image

By the way, to make the potion, get a restore potion, and use garlic on it. you'll also need to grind a silver bar into the bone grinder at Port Phasmatys to add and finish the 'Guthix Balance'.

Go check out the cavern. The myreque will be gone, so instead look for the boarded up cave just to the left of theirs and give it a good solid WHACK with your hammer.

Enter the cave. You'll see the tomb at the end of it with some kind of staff at the end. Now, mormally when it's fused in there like that, it may mean you'll need to make your own. To do that, get some wet clay, a silver bar, a mithril bar, a sapphire, a cosmic rune, and a water rune.

Image

Once you use mithril bar on the furnace with the silver bar and sapphire in inventory, enchant it. However, it still don't be complete.

Head to Drezel. Don't talk to him though. Instead, head to the well and use your rod on it with some rope in hand.

... er, your Silvthrill rod, I mean. Don't get any funny ideas.

Image

It'll start to glow and show it has 10 charges. If you run out of charges, merely dip it in the well again. It's a pretty sweet weapon - it has a special, you can cast spells, and it even is effected by your combat level!

Image

Make 2 of these. Veliaf will want one.

With the staff in hand, you now stand a fighting chance against the vampyres!

If you head back to the inn in Burgh de Rott and enter the basement again. Veliaf and co. will be there. There's a chest near the plaque you can get garlic from.

Give one of your rods to Veliaf.

QUEST COMPLETE!

Image

You can use the staff on the vampyre initiates to the east of town. Drin them with the staff to less then half health, then use the special. After that, feed them some potion. They'll transform back into people and they'll give rewards.

Image

Mind you, when all the staff's charges are gone, the rod will crumble to dust. So keep your mould, because everything else is smooth flying when you want to mass-produce rods. Make a bunch at the furnice, then take a bunch, with rope of course, to the well to enchant. Oh, and don't forget about the potions.

When you feed the juvenile vampires potions, 1 of 3 things will happen:

1: It will change back into a human and he'll reward you with black or mithril stuff in certificates.
2: It will just die right then and there.
3: It will get really big, but become effected by any weapon, go up to full health again, and attack, so use any means necessary to take it out.

The quest doesn't seem like spending time on.

it's not really long just quite a bit of walking. the city is good if you're doing barrows.
