April Fools

I guess most of you knew this was coming. Although judging by a few snippets of MSN convos I've been shown over the past few days we managed to fool a fair few of you. And even the majority of you must have been unsure whether it was real or not.

Basically it all started a few weeks ago when Shane came to me and said we had to think of a way we could play an April Fools joke on the community. After some deliberation I came up with the idea of me getting banned via a rather heated argument (or outburst as it was) on the Update, trying to play on the fact people somewhat expect me to be angry and short tempered. That's the whole reason we had a live recording that week, again as I'm sure many of you pieced together. How to start the argument seemed a whole other problem though. I still think it turned out rather crap and I felt like an idiot doing it, but it seemed most peoples initial reaction was to believe it was real. There was also meant to be an 'Anti-RSBANDB rant' on my blog but I ran out of time to do that before I had to leave last Friday.

We had originally tried to fool the staff as well, but that failed as none of them believed in. Even after Shane and myself had faked some MSN chat logs to show them of us arguing even more. I guess all in all it fooled a little more people than I had expected but was a little too unoriginal (after last years) to fool most of you. It actually seems like the people we've managed to fool most of all was the majority of update listeners who don't even post actively in the community, judging by the number of posts in the latest RSBANDBUpdate! topic, ironic when it wasn't even meant to get to them.

Oh well, guess we'll have to try harder next year.

The actual argument was quite well done, albeit a bit too much of an overreaction, I nearly believed that, but everything else seemed quite poorly planned.

I thought that was kind of a giveaway, as if he expected you to post something there.

PLEASE try harder next year, this was rather predictable, seeing as Brad gets banned 3(?) dys before April fools? I'm honestly surprised you got anyone...

I am glad to see it was an april fools prank, the jump from normal to i am a crazy swearing lunatic did confuse me tho.

Anywho if it makes you feel better, i fell for it for around 5-10minutes and then it came into my head hm wait a minute..april fools..DAM YOU.
