Firstly, thank you so much for answering my audio question, regarding the lost aspect of role playing in the game.

In answer to your question regarding the background music that I chose for my audio question, it is the song "Voyage" which can be heard in the area north of Baxtorian Falls (eg. when Barbarian fishing). The version that I have is from the old midi pack before Jagex upgraded the audio in the game.

Thank you for agreeing that it is a real shame RuneScape isn't more about playing a medieval character. I realize that cape achievement is a grand goal to work for. But, as the old adage goes, "don't forget to stop and smell the roses" and "the trip is not so much about the destination, but about the journey".

For me, I have made a committment that I'm in the game for the long haul. I see no end to my participation. I'm in no hurry to get all my 99's (as I'm really not one to boast and show off), but rather I love immersing myself in the world of Gielinor and having fun, while at the same time earning xp and making gp. I certainly do not have any deficit in attention span, which unfortunately many younger people seem to have. I don't really see me reaching a point where there will be nothing left to do in the game and I feel I have to move on. There is still so much I haven't even tried yet in the game, and Jagex keeps adding more all the time.

One very important aspect I do wish to emphasize, is that everyone's interaction with other players affects how much enjoyment other players have playing the game. Imagine if everyone were to behave in a manner where you couldn't tell if the character was a real player or an NPC. Imagine if you never had to put anyone on your ignore list, and everyone was helpful, polite, courteous and respectful. I make it a point in my gameplay to have my character actually be a part of RuneScape that people look forward to interacting with. In the end, the concept of notoriety and being a "famous RuneScape player" can just as easily be achieved by a player's behaviour and interaction with other players, as it would be to simply become a "maxed player". Food for thought.
